Every now and then, the people in the old red van would hear an ambulance siren in the distance. A lone person would hurry passed with bags of food, as if chased by hungry wolves. Inés stared out the window at the strange city, consumed by a fine sense of adventure. | ||

Relieved, they all tumbled out of the van, although Inés soon decided it was one of the worst places she had ever been. In the distance, a thin dog watched them then ran away. A sharp chemical smell filled the air. Rubbish blew in from the carpark. Even the wind seemed dead. Inside the old factory, dirty water had spilt across the concrete floor. | ||
