Echo, 2 (simple)

Member story

One day, Echo notices Narcissus while he is hunting deer. When Echo sees Narcissus wandering through the forest, she falls in love with him. She follows him. The more she follows him, the hotter does the flame of her love burn. It is like a chemical which catches fire easily. How she wants to tell him soft words and make him delicious suggestions! But she is Echo, and so she can’t begin. She must always wait for his voice, so that she can return his words.
By chance, Narcissus becomes separated from his friends. He shouts, ‘Is there anyone here?’
Echo answers, ‘Here!’
Narcissus is amazed, and after searching everywhere, he shouts with a loud voice, ‘Come!’
Of course, Echo calls back to the boy who calls her. He looks around, and again, as no one comes, he says ‘Why are you avoiding me?’ The words he speaks come back to him. He keeps searching, and because he doesn’t understand what the other voice is, he proposes, ‘Let’s come together here.’
Although she really has no choice, Echo answers Narcissus very willingly, ‘Let’s come together here!’ She runs out of the forest, ready to throw her arms around Narcissus’ neck.
But Narcissus runs away, yelling ‘Leave me alone! I would rather die than be your lover!’
