| It’s hopeless, stuck in a shed, completely dependent on Inés! Arturo thought to himself. Maybe it had not been a good idea to run away from the hospital. How I wish I could control my breathing! But I can’t practise all day. Somebody really didn’t think this adventure through! | ||
| Meanwhile Arturo’s whole family – Julia, Alfonso, Sergio and Maria José – were standing near the noisy freeway, not that far from the gardener’s shed. | ||

| Inés was standing under some trees, eating a ham and cheese roll from the hospital. The heat had diminished since the storm. Birds were twittering all around her. Tree branches were throwing wild shadows over the ground. She could see a group of stinky poopy adults on the footpath below her. Hang on, don’t I know that man? And that woman! It’s Julia! That must be Arturo’s whole family! But Inés didn’t yell out, ‘Oi! Up here!’ Instead, when they started walking back towards the hospital, she followed them carefully. | ||
